I like to write poetry and take pictures of trees - so I often will put a poem or a few words from my poem onto a product and pair it with one of my photos to honour someone close to me who has crossed to the other side.

Here's an example:

Where Do We Go? was written in memory of my Uncle Glen who passed away as the result of a brain tumor.   On one hospital visit Uncle Glen put his hand on my arm and repeated over and over again "it's fine dear, it's alright, it's ok, I'm fine".

Later I found out that many people didn't know he was in the hospital let alone that he was gone.  Forever.  My cousin asked if anyone wanted to share a few words at his internment; I wrote this poem for his friends and family ...

"Where do we go?" he asked the man,
A puzzled look in his eye.
"We go to God", was all he said.
"But where is that? And Why?"

"Your time has come, your work is done,
Your place is now by me.
Your body needs a place to heal,
Your spirit screams to flee.

The will to live has left you,
The pain has made you see,
The path you have to follow,
is as plain as the leaves on a tree."

"I see my wife, my kids, my life,
There’s so much still to do.
The things I’ve said, and done, and not,
My tree may not come true".

"You’ve held the hands that loved you,
You’ve told them that you’re fine,
You have to trust they’ll understand
that from now on you’re mine.

There’s no more need to carry on,
Breathe in and count to three,
Just close your eyes and wish them well,
And gently come to me."
